Reminiscent of Fiddler (of course). It'ss probably one of my favorite books. I love fiddler, of course, but it shows that fiction sometimes mirrors real life! Yes, it's a holocaust story, but very briefly- I'd say it is more like 12 Before 13 then Now. It made me cry, laugh, smile, frown, and it was like I was the characters! Choose it.
For any 9-11 year old girl who has a love for realistic and historical fiction. I love how instruments and daily life were wound into this family history story.
I liked the history that Shirley's grandfather told to Ben it really made me think about what happened to him I also liked how it connected to Fiddler on the Roof
THIS BOOK IS A VERY EMOTIONAL BOOK, AND IS VERY GOOD FOR THOSE WHO FIND THE HOLOCAUST INTERESTING.
I love it
