This book reminded me of Yin-Yang, which combines Jewish and Chinese elements into a singular Concept. It was a packed of wondering. I know that some families in NYC have similar backgrounds to those depicted in this book. It's worth taking the time to read this book.
This was a good book, though it was a little slow at first. I recommend it though!
This book is about a Chinese girl that wants to be in a play and she knows that she will get a big part but she is wrong because the director doesn’t like that she is Jewish and Chinese but Lauren figures a way to wiggle out of her problem read the book to find out the rest !!!!!!
although i wish i could have given us a dit more of a detailed discription at the start, or mabey that's just me. :]
I really liked this book a lot because it is kind of like a sequel to This is just a test but it is also kind of like the beginning of the story. But what makes this book special is how it can relate to a lot of people maybe not the Chinese part specifically but a lot of us have been made fun of for being Jewish (i am speaking with personal experience) but we all try out for stuff and get told we are not good enough so I really felt connected to Lauren during the whole book. P.S. sorry my review is so long I just had a lot to say
