I thought this was an incredible book, I could not put it down. I had chosen This is Just a Test previously, and thought it was cool how Lauren and David are related so closely, but have very different life problems. I also like how I can relate to them, because I am Chinese Jewish American, and I don't know that many people like that. Lauren and Tara are besties, but during the book their friendships get kind of tough. Lauren had a better audition for the school play, but she didn't get picked for the lead because she doesn't look like an all american girl. Instead, Tara did, and they started to drift apart. Read the book to find out how they work their way through the challenges of life!

I love it because it gives you the chance to feel the emotions of the characters. this book is about a girl named Lauren who when she gets separated from her best friend .she and her bff(Tara)try out for the school play to be together.they both get parts .but when Lauren finds out that the reason why she didn’t get the main part was because she didn’t look like the all America girl like the girl in the play she feels defeated.can she recover from the feeling with her arguing grandmothers and a mother who wants to go to law school?find out in not your all American girl

My favorite book I got from PJ our way and a great story this book follows the life of Lauren who is not-your-all-american girl
