Good book!!!!

Review by YKLovesBooks

It was good but it was a bit boring at the beginning so I didn’t really like that part of it, but it was really good overall and I liked it.

Amazing

Review by Ateam11

It was a great book because it was deeply connected to Lois Lowry's "Number The Stars". They both had the same idea of the Danish people resisting the Nazis and helping Jews. They created resistance groups who helped Jews escape and sabotage the Nazis who controlled the railroads of Denmark.

The book “Hitlers Canary” was a VERY good book. It had very good details describing what was going on. This is the reason why I left 5 stars! I loved it!

Denmark’s Jews

Review by orcaintheocean

I loved “Hitler’s Canary”! In the book I learned what happened to the Jews in Denmark. I have read books about what happened to the Jews in Germany and the Soviet Union (there aren’t many books that I know of about the Jews in other countries). Luckily only 447 of Denmark’s Jews were sent to concentration camps and the other 7,440 escaped to Sweden. In total, only about 2% of Denmark’s Jews died. I also learned why the book’s name is “Hitler’s Canary”. In the book the author states that the Danish people were like a canary in a cage and that that cage was the Nazis. The main character’s family is part of the resistance, people who fought back against the Nazis. They are not Jewish but helped secretly hide Jews in their apartment and escape to Sweden. The book “Hitler’s Canary” is a fun and informative book full of excitement and action.
