If you are 11+, and like reading comics or graphic novels, then this is the book for you! Lily flees from her town to a safer place in the United Kingdom. But she is treated quite poorly there, and is very home sick. She goes then towards American in search of money to get her parents safely to America. Will she get a job and reunite with her family?! I liked this book because it tells about some of Jewish history, but still just narrows it down to one girl. Lily is also a lot like me because we both love art!
The book is educational a little more mature than other books i have picked which i liked i finished it really quickly because i just could not put it down i would easily recommend this book.
I loved this book because I had never heard of Lily Renee before, and I am glad I learned about her because she had to leave her parents to go to a whole new land that she knew nothing about. She was headstrong and independent. Despite all her hardships and challenges, she became a comic book pioneer!
This book was really good and definitely makes you think more about being Jewish. The book definitely is a little sad. But it's also really happy because she was just 14 years old and going to another country without your parents is scary and she did it.
Lily tries to escape from Hitler's army and to a safer place. But even if she succeeds, will all her troubles be over yet? What would you do if you were Lily? Think and READ!
