Really fun and an easy book to read great for young ones.

i like the book it is funny but the drawings could be better

It is a good book about a man that comes to the town of elk wood. The owners were not happy with him and said they would kill him. He said he would put a slip of paper that says the rabbi lives and one that says the rabbi dies. Both said the rabbi dies and the owner moved away to another town. He was the owner of the town and he was very wise and helped people with there problem. He was a very good and wise person. I liked this book and I recommend it.

so amazing i need books like this more often

Ideal read for 4th grade, and below but is enjoyable by all ages, and is a timeless classic. Shenkin does a wonderful job combining stories of Jewish wisdom, with action packed encounters in the west. I loved it.
