I had three complaints with this book: 1: The plot moves along too quickly 2: The book was obviously written for 7 year olds 3: The main character had no character development (linked to #1) I would most certainly not reread the book/recommend the book/read more books by this author.
I liked how this book taught me that black people and white people should be together all the time and must not make fun of each other. I loved learning about Ethiopia and Jews from Ethiopia. I also liked learning more about Israel.
I liked this story. My family can relate to being multicultural and transracial. We have become closer because of our backgrounds and this book talks a lot about how we feel. It helped me feel proud of my birth culture just like Meskerem.
These illustrations should definitely be a Caldecott winner and it might not be that funny but it is a great book 📖 and it is about immigration from Ethiopia 🇪🇹.
This book was amazing. It taught me more about that you assume where people come from just because of the color of theirskin.
