This book is amazing. I read it as a class assignment, and now we're doing a play on it. It is the story of immigration and everything that can go wrong. I recommend this book to everybody.

i loved this book!

Real troubles of a real girl about a century ago. At times it's sad, touching, and a few times it's comical. Realize how much your family means to you and how much you mean to your family. You'll also not take what you have for granted and how lucky you are. I'm sorry I gave it to a friend because I want to re-read it.

This book was really good. Rifka and her family are going to America, but Rifka is not allowed to because she has ringworm. I would recommend this book to kids ages 9 and over.
