The cartoons were so funny and it taught me about Jewish history in an entertaining way! Though it was a little weird.

Finally a book that doesn't pretend Vashti was a heroine

Review by Bookboy1

Most people think that Vashti stood up for women's rights but she didn't at all. She made Jewish girls scrub her floors without clothes on Shabbos when it is their day of rest. She was ready to go to Achashveirosh but because she got a skin defect decided not to go. The true heroine of the story is Queen Esther. She sacrificed her entire life and what it would have been like, to save all of the Jews. She could have been killed, and she also wasn't able to be married to her cousin Mordechai anymore. She kept kosher while in a place where they wanted to kill people like her. She kept Shabbos. She stood up for what she believed in.

Funny!

Review by cbc123

This book tells the Purim story in a graphic novel format. It has jokes, and questions at the end. I borrowed this from my school library, but my siblings and I like it so much I am ordering a copy of my own this month! One of the other reviews complained that they made Vashti the villain... that's because she is one! Just search Vashti Jewish tradition and you'll see what I mean. This book is a fun version of the Purim story for kids.
