After reading the book, I thought about how we should be thankful for what we have.

I can easily imagine how it would feel to lose your friends like in this book. When the Hurricane Came is a story that could have happened almost the same for many other people whose lives have been wrecked by a hurricane.

this book is so good, it made me think more about hurricane Katrina. i'm glad we don't live near the equator.

This would be a good story for older kids, because it can be sad. I thought it was very interesting how and why they made their decisions about what to do.
