Why We Chose This Book: Takedown by Laura Shovan

With so many of our kids involved with team sports, the Book Selection Committee was thrilled to add Takedown to the PJ Our Way lineup. This is a well-written book about Lev and Mikayla who are both talented wrestlers. With alternating voices (each chapter devoted to either Lev of Mikayla), readers will get a full and developed picture of what it’s like to be the only girl on a sports team as well as a Jewish boy’s perspective on how to balance sports, school, friendship, and family.
