From L to R: Paula Freedman (My Basmati Bat Mitzvah), Catriella Freedman (Director of PJ Our Way), Tammar Stein (The Six-Day Hero), Erica Perl (When Life Gives you O.J. andAces Wild), and Betsy Rosenthal (Looking for Me).

Catriella Freedman, Director of PJ Our Way, was thrilled to catch up with PJ Our Way authors Paula Freedman (My Basmati Bat Mitzvah, coming November 2017), Tammar Stein (The Six-Day Hero), Erica Perl (When Life Gives You O.J. and Aces Wild), and Betsy Rosenthal (Looking for Me) at Tent: Children’s Literature Retreat in August 2017.

Twenty talented authors gathered at the Yiddish Book Center for an intensive writing workshop focused on writing Jewish children’s picture books and middle-grade books. Hosted in partnership with the Yiddish Book Center, PJ Library, and PJ Our Way, Tent offered emerging and mid-career picture book and middle-grade writers the opportunity to read, write, workshop new projects, and talk about craft and the history of Jewish storytelling.

We hope to see new PJ Library and PJ Our Way books come out of this partnership.
