Dear Student

Review by RMH2013

In this book, a girl named Autumn goes to middle school. However, she is alone. Her best friend moves away, and she feels out of place. In addition to that, her dad goes across the world, volunteering for the Peace Corps. There is one thing that makes her feel like she belongs. In her school’s newspaper, there is an article called “Dear Student”. This job is a secret. Students who want to do this job, all submit resumes. One student is picked secretly. Students send questions, opinions, and advice to this unknown person. The “Dear Student” person, then responds to them with their answer. The whole thing is anonymous. Autumn puts her name in. She is so excited when she gets picked. However, she's worried that people may not like her advice. Later in the year, Autumn’s two best friends are on the opposite sides of a problem. They both ask “Dear Student” for help. She doesn't know what to do. She doesn't know if she can give both of her friends good advice, and keep her cover a mystery.
