Submitted 4/23/2019 by leveygirls

The book was fine, but it wasn't as good as the other books in the series, particularly book one. But the series itself is good, and this book contributes it's part to the series's story. Read book one.

It was a story

I liked this book.

this was definitely not one of my all time favorite books, and was kind of drab in some places, but it was still somewhat good! I might recommend it to a few people.

NOT WORTH READING
Submitted 3/2/2019 by Worldcitizen

This book was just OK

DON'T EVEN BOTHER READING THIS BOOK. IT IS SOO BORING. THERE IS HARDLY ANY SUBSTANCE IN THE BOOK. IT IS JUST EMPTY WORDS. THERE IS NO ADVENTURE OR SUSPENSE, BUT IF YOU ARE THE KIND OF PERSON WHO LIKES SAD ROMANCE NOVELS THEN THIS MIGHT BE A GOOD BOOK FOR YOU. THE ONLY REASON I GAVE IT ONE STAR WAS BECAUSE I COULDN'T GIVE IT A ZERO.

Best book ever!

A Well-Written and Interesting Story But A Little Boring
Submitted 8/21/2017 by BallerinaB

I liked this book.

This book made me think more about the importance of family.

This is a good story because you don't know what is coming next. It's about what this family has been through during the early 1900s in NYC. It was a little boring because I don't like life-line stories. The vocabulary words are too hard for nine year olds. I recommend this book because it showed different ages of children going through hard times. It made me think about what life must have been like for my family.

This book was FUN!!!!!!

Thumbs up!

This book made me think more about the importance of family.

This book is about a family with five girls, Ella, Henny, Sarah, Charlotte, Gertie and their little brother, Charlie. The girls were watching carriages go by when Charlie ran across the street and the carriages almost rode over him! Luckily, a woman named Lena saved Charlie and almost got hit by the carriage herself! Then, she came home with the girls and met their Uncle Hyman. Lena and their Uncle Hyman fell in love and planned a wedding. But then Lena had to go to the hospital and said that she wouldn't marry their Uncle Hyman. Read the amazing book, More All-of-a-Kind Family, to find out what happens next.

Wonderful -- I loved it

I loved this book!

In this book, none of the children fought and they were really nice to everyone. For all the older siblings out there reading my review, I think that this is a great read-aloud; I'm an older sister and would've read this book to my younger brother except that he is a little too young! The family of sisters in this book have a younger brother and he is also a great example, for that reason I think that I might read it to my younger brother when he gets a little bigger! And of course I loved the book myself!

so far great!!!!!!!!

I loved this book!

This book made me think more about the importance of family.

I was so sad when the first book left off with a cliffhanger, But when they made another book I nearly jumped for joy!!!! I thought it was interesting that we got to see things from the point of view of each main character and I was so happy that uncle Hyman got a better life. This book really taught me that even if something bad happens you can always fix it and some times make it better then it already was. I loved the first and second book.

Sydney Taylor
Sydney Taylor of More All-of-a-Kind Family

Did you know that Sydney Taylor wrote the All-of-a-Kind Family series for her own daughter, Jo? The stories were based on Sydney's own childhood, growing up with four sisters and three brothers in the Lower East Side of New York City.

Sydney was a singer, dancer, and actor, but she was most known for her books, which were read and loved not just by Jewish children, but by children all over America, who were introduced through her characters to the beautiful customs of Judaism. She is really the "mother" of Jewish kids' books, and she even has a children's Jewish book award named for her.
