The book Now was really touching. It connected with me in ways that most books don't. I was crying when they were crying and I was laughing when they were laughing.

This book teaches me to work with my partners and never take anything for granted. I would recommend this book to anyone who is ready for a roller coaster ride of feelings. Or anyone who loves a great story. This was an AMAZING book!

This book is very well written and is very fun to read. It isn't sad but is kind of emotional. Its not directly about the holocaust but it compares what is going on to the holocaust and I think that is very neat. It is a great book and I couldn't put it down so I highly recommend NOW.

I have not yet read the two books before this one, but I think it is OK to read this book first. I am exited for the new book coming out in this series. This book made me think more about friendship.

This is an inspiring tale about a girl named Zelda who has to live up to her name. The first Zelda was the best friend to her grandfather Felix and the first Zelda did many heroic things in her life. The more modern Zelda feels empowered to live up to the heroic deeds the past Zelda did. With her grandfather by her side, we get a look into the life of a young jewish girl and her grandfather who survived the Holocaust. NOW by Morris Gleitzman is a wonderful book full of friendship and family.

Good Book(:

I liked this book.

This book made me think more about the importance of family.

this book was a good book bc it showed the importance of family, being brave, and kindness. my only concerns are that Zelda gets caught a lot doing things she shouldn't by her grandpa redundantly and he never tells her that she shouldn't do those things, she can also be a little bit hard to understand sometimes about the choices she makes, and I was hoping this book told a little bit more about the holocaust but it didn't /: this book is very fun and interesting I like how the author wrote the book so no matter what book you read for you will understand them (:(:

This book made me think more about the importance of family.

I would definitely pick this book. It's about a girl, Zelda, who lives with her grandfather, Felix. When Felix was a kid, the Holocaust was going on. His best friend, Zelda, got killed in the Holocaust when they were in hiding (not his granddaughter Zelda). When Felix got older, he and Zelda had to go in hiding because of the tornado that was happening. This reminded Felix about his life when he was younger. I felt really bad for him. You should also read Once and Then to know about Felix's life in the Holocaust.

this book was amazing!
Submitted 2/5/2017 by maddie2056

I loved this book!

this book was amazing! though, the only part about the Holocaust was Felix's background (from when he was young ) the end takes place a a funeral, but its not sad, though there are some sad parts like the fire and her friend almost died. but overall, i loved this book alot!

This book was really good AND interesting, it made me think about a lot of things, but also taught me more about the Holocaust from a close up view. The book was about a girl named Zelda who was named after someone special (I won't tell you who) and felt like she couldn't live up to that person. There is a lot to tell, but I'm not gonna spoil it for you. But, it was good, so read it.

NOW, written by Morris Gleitzman, is a book about a girl named Zelda and her grandfather who was a holocaust survivor, and their amazing relationship. NOW is the third book in a series, but it made sense even if you didn’t read the first two books (which I didn’t). NOW started out very sweet, but soon became the saddest book I have ever read. NOW would make a great movie because it is full of emotion, action and so many things that would make it fun to not just read, but watch too. Zelda was named after her grandfather’s non-Jewish friend who died in the holocaust but just wanted to be with Felix, the grandfather. Also, the current day Zelda’s parents moved away to Africa, so that’s why she is living with her grandfather. My favorite part of the book was when, at the end, Zelda decided to be brave like the Zelda before her, and changed her life and her family’s lives just by saying something that was on her mind; she wanted everyone in her family to stay together.

I really enjoyed reading this book (although it was very difficult at times) and I hope you feel the same way!

Review from Sydney

Morris Gleitzman

Author of NOW

“What I try and do in my stories is acknowledge and explore some of the tough aspects of life, but my stories are also always about love and friendship between characters, about the very best that we’re capable of doing as a species too."

Morris Gleitzman was born in England, but he moved to Australia when he was a teenager. He was named after his great grandfather who came from Krakow, Poland.

As a kid, Morris LOVED to read, but when he moved to Australia, the shock of being in a new place caused him to stop reading for a year!  When he started again, he found that not only did he love to read, he also loved to write!

When asked to describe himself, Morris said the following:
“I’m a middle-aged bloke with not much hair and quite a lot of tummy who tries to explore every aspect of being human using only a notebook, a computer, his imagination and lots of nouns, verbs, prepositions, pronouns and articles. Plus a few adjectives and adverbs.”
