I CAN’T STAND THIS BOOK. DISAPPOINTINGLY DISAPPOINTING.

This book is a page turner!
Submitted 4/2/2019 by lovestoread2010

I liked this book.

This book made me think more about being Jewish.

I really liked this book, but I felt that the dialogue between the teenagers was inappropriate at times; specifically some bad words and hand gestures were used and kids were mean to each other which might be realistic in how some kids communicate but didn’t do anything to progress or improve the story.

That being said, I learned about Jewish mysticism, and while I don’t necessarily believe in ghosts, I enjoyed their presence in the story.

If I could be any character in the story, I would be one of the ghosts. I won’t say which one in case you haven’t read it yet.

The author’ s descriptions made me feel like I was there experiencing what the characters experienced.. I recommend it.

This book was just OK

This book wasn't scary or funny. It was kind of confusing and it moved at such a high pace that I found myself going, "wait, what?" I'm being really critical but i couldn't put it down. You got to give it to the author, because I read it in one day. I wanted to see what happened, even if the story was really confusing and sort of strange. So maybe worth reading depending on you.

It was okay

I liked the book's ending, but it was a little confusing in the beginning when it kept switching perspectives and time periods. Just remember that the man and girls are the ones in her cabin, and you'll be fine. Overall, it was a pretty good book.

Okay book.

Pretty good fantasy Story
Submitted 3/1/2019 by DinosaursAreAwesome

I liked this book.

It's pretty good-if you like creepy fantasies stories with people who almost die and a mystery, then get this book! By the way, I say 'with people who almost die' as a good thing-characters facing near-death experiences always makes the book much better! It was slow at times, so you shouldn't get this if, like me, you don't like slow, boring parts in the plot. I put it down for a few weeks at one of those parts. I picked it up again because I was bored, and I'm glad I did because overall this book is good.

This book is about a kid named Dahlia who loves doing magic tricks. She promised her parents to go to this camp in order to go to math camp. Then she started having visions and dreams and was seeing things like ghosts and stuff like that. Overall it's a pretty good book, but some parts are creepy and violent.

I read this book the day it arrived, and I was a little disappointed in it. It kind of freaked me out at first, and it isn't really my type of book. So, if you like fictional, fun books I don't really recommend this book to you! But, if you like kinda freaky stories then go ahead try it out no one is stopping you.

If you like creepy books then The Path Of Names is definitely for you. Even though I don't love creepy books, I still loved this book. It's about a girl named Dahlia at a summer camp and weird things are happening to her. She's having dreams about a boy named David Schank and she's seeing ghosts and all sorts of things. Dahlia meets a girl named Chelsea and Chelsea can hear the ghosts but she can't see them. Dahlia got Chelsea to help her bring the two girl ghosts back to life, even though they died 72 years ago. I think that you will like this book as much as I like it and I think you should get it.

This book by Ari Goelman was good book but not a great book. It went back and forth from now to 72 years ago. This book is about a girl named Dahlia who goes to sleepaway camp and has some unexpected twists and turns. It would be a good book for you if you have gone to sleepaway camp already but a little scary if you are going for the first time.

I loved this book!

This book made me think more about friendship.

This book is about a girl named Dahlia who loves math and magic and is excited to go to magic camp. Her parents force to go to a Jewish overnight camp. Something strange had happened at the camp when she first went there to pick up her older brother Tom, so Dahlia is scared of what might happen if she goes again. When she first gets to camp, everything is normal. For about two minutes. Then Dahlia noticed two little girls walking through the walls of a cabin. Dahlia does not believe that the girls actually went through the wall, so she thinks that the girls are playing a trick on her. But that night, she dreams about a Jew that had found the 72nd name of god. Dahlia does not understand why she is dreaming this. A couple more nights (and strange dreams) go by and Dahlia realizes that the overgrown maze on the outskirts of the camp will put anyone that walks inside it in mortal danger. Will Dahlia be able to prevent the usage of the maze? Will she ever find out who the little girls are? And is Dahlia possessed? Read this captivating book to find out.

Interesting... Unique... Mystifying...

This book was just OK

This book made me think more about being Jewish.

This story may not be good for kids who will be going to sleep away camp for the first time. This story has some scary things happen at sleepaway camp. It is a mystery that takes place at the camp that has to do with many flashbacks from 72 years before. Mystery lovers would enjoy this book about a curious nerdy magic-loving girl.

Ari Goelman
Author of The Path of Names

"Write! Make it part of your daily routine."

Ari Goelman’s favorite color is purple, and his favorite ice cream is chocolate pistachio. As a child, Ari spent 14 summers at camp, but he never saw ghosts like his character, Dahlia, does! Do you want to be an author? Ari has this advice:

For me, it helps to get lots of sleep. It helps to read fiction that I like. It really helps to turn off the Internet for a few hours and work in a room with a door that closes. And, finally, it helps to accept that you will sometimes hate what you’re writing. You will feel uninspired and dull. Keep going, and you will get to a place where you read what you wrote the day before, and some portion of it will seem good. Keep going and some parts will even make you laugh.

Ari lives with his family in British Columbia, Canada.
