When Lightnin’ struck By Betsy Rosenthal is an amazing book with lots of mysteries. Follow the adventures of James and his best friend Paul as they face bullies, family troubles, and dealing with their past. Some of the content is sad or hard to understand for younger children so this book may be better for kids who are ready for more mature topics.

I liked the books message and I like that it had interesting history, but everything was way too obvious. I don’t know if that was just me, but if you want a book where the main character figures stuff out himself, you might not like this. Other than that great book
